The works involved the full build-out of multiple specialist imaging suites, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and DEXA. Each room was constructed to strict dimensional, structural and compliance requirements, incorporating shielding, acoustic separation, and precise coordination to accommodate large-format medical equipment.
A significant component of the project was the integration of complex services infrastructure. Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems were carefully delivered to suit the demands of imaging equipment, including MRI-specific requirements, while maintaining performance, safety and ongoing serviceability. Close coordination between trades and the OEMs was critical to achieve the required tolerances and ensure seamless equipment installation.
The construction also included dedicated control rooms, recovery areas, and sub-waiting zones, all built to support efficient clinical operations. Front-of-house areas, including reception and main waiting, were delivered to a high level of finish, providing a clear and professional arrival experience for patients.
Extensive back-of-house works were completed, including reporting suites, PACS and processing rooms, staff amenities, clean and dirty utilities, and multiple change areas. These spaces were constructed to support day-to-day workflows, infection control requirements, and staff functionality.
Particular attention was given to sequencing and buildability, ensuring that specialist rooms, service runs, and structural provisions were delivered to accommodate both construction constraints and future equipment installation.
