The initial stage of works focused on the redevelopment of key functional areas, including the main auditorium to seat 440 people, foyer and hall, reception and pastoral offices, and supporting spaces such as the green room and café. These works were designed to enhance the overall usability of the facility, providing improved circulation, upgraded amenities, and flexible spaces for both formal and informal gatherings.
The auditorium upgrade formed a central component of the project, creating a revitalised space capable of supporting modern services and events. This was complemented by improvements to associated back-of-house areas, including dedicated green room facilities and improved access points, allowing for better operational flow during events and services.
Front-of-house areas, including the foyer and reception, were reconfigured to create a more welcoming and functional entry experience. These spaces were designed to accommodate increased foot traffic and provide clear connections to surrounding rooms, including offices, group rooms, and the café area.
Additional works included the construction of new internal walls and structural elements to support flexible room layouts within children’s and group spaces. These areas were designed to provide adaptable environments suitable for a variety of community programs and activities.
The redevelopment also incorporated upgrades to building services, including air conditioning installations throughout the works areas and provisions for electrical infrastructure improvements such as switchboard relocation. These upgrades were essential to support the increased capacity and performance of the refurbished facility.
The project was delivered in a staged approach to allow the church to maintain operations throughout construction. Early stages focused on preparing and relocating staff into temporary office spaces, followed by sequential upgrades to different sections of the building. This approach minimised disruption to ongoing activities while enabling efficient progress of construction works.
The result was a modernised and flexible facility that significantly improved the functionality, comfort, and usability of the church environment, supporting both congregational activities and broader community engagement.
