Works commenced with demolition of the existing tenancy, including removal of internal partitions, floor finishes, lighting, and ceiling tiles, while retaining key base-building elements such as the ceiling grid. Demolition was undertaken in a controlled and progressive manner, with waste managed through designated bins and removed regularly to maintain a clean and safe site.
Construction was carefully sequenced to ensure efficient workflow and minimise disruption to adjacent tenancies. Site access for labour, materials, and waste removal was coordinated within the constraints of the existing building, requiring strict control of deliveries, logistics, and site movements.
A key component of the project was the integration of specialist radiology facilities. This included the construction of lead-lined walls, doors, and viewing windows for CT, X-ray, and OPG rooms in accordance with radiation requirements. Structural considerations such as slab scanning and core drilling were undertaken to accommodate imaging equipment and associated services.
The fitout included new partitioning, plasterboard linings, ceilings, and insulation, along with full internal finishes including vinyl flooring, carpet tiles, and painting throughout. Custom joinery was installed across clinical, administrative, and staff areas, including reception, control rooms, and amenities, creating a functional and compliant healthcare environment.
Building services were reconfigured and upgraded to suit the new layout, incorporating electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and fire service modifications. This included installation of new lighting, power and data infrastructure, and dedicated services for specialist imaging equipment, with careful integration into the existing base building systems.
Throughout construction, strong coordination between trades, disciplined staging, and tight control of site conditions were essential to delivery. Ongoing cleaning, waste management, and protection of completed works were maintained to a high standard.
The project was successfully completed as a fully operational radiology clinic, delivering high-quality, purpose-built imaging facilities within an existing commercial tenancy.
