Works centred on the creation of a contemporary entry airlock and canopy, forming a clear and welcoming threshold between the external environment and the interior worship space. This new structure provided improved weather protection and defined a more legible point of entry for visitors and the congregation. The project also included significant external works, with the development of a new piazza, steps, pathways, and reconfigured driveway. These upgrades improved site circulation, accessibility, and connection between different areas of the property, creating a cohesive and functional landscape setting for the building.
As part of the redevelopment, the north elevation of the worship space was modified, including the removal and replacement of windows to improve natural light, visibility, and overall building performance. These changes contributed to a refreshed façade while maintaining compatibility with the existing structure.
Construction works incorporated a combination of structural steel, concrete, glazing, and architectural finishes, carefully integrated with the existing building fabric. The project required precise coordination across trades to ensure new elements aligned seamlessly with retained structures and services.
Delivered within an operational church environment, the works were carefully staged to minimise disruption to services and weekly activities. Site management and construction sequencing were critical to maintaining safe access and usability for occupants throughout the programme.
The completed project delivered a refined and functional entry experience, supported by upgraded external spaces that enhanced accessibility, circulation, and the overall presence of the church within its surroundings.
